About

Simran Kaur Bal is a multi-hyphenate artist originally from the sub-rural midwest.

Her television pilot scripts have been developed through Circle of Confusion Productions’ Writer’s Fellowship. Play scripts have been produced with  Blank Theatre LA, developed through Fresh Ground Pepper’s Playground Play Group, and honored as a finalists at Austin Film Festival and Screencraft’s Stageplay Competition.

Simran’s theatrical credits include Victory Gardens Theater, Goodman Theater, and New York Theater Festival. Commerical/voiceover credits include Wylde Flowers (Winner, Apple Arcade’s 2022 Game of the Year,) Kohler, and Delta Airlines.

Simran is currently a writer’s assistant for Madhuri Shekar via Eka Tantham Inc, where she assists with the development of screenplays/pilots for Disney+, HBO, and Netflix.

Simran’s storytelling pursuits began around age six with books made from stapled printer paper and crayon that told stories ft. her anthropomorphized pet hamster. Said stories were heavily ripped off of episodes of Arthur — which, along with ‘00s Bollywood, flip-camcorders, and wide open spaces, (cue The Chicks,) were Simran’s artistic getaways.

If all else fails, she’s probably outside.
